When a doctor sees that these symptoms are related to the gallbladder, then the next step is surgery. This surgery consists of removing the entire gallbladder called a cholecystectomy. A cholecystectomy is most commonly performed by inserting a tiny video camera and special surgical tools through four small incisions to see inside your abdomen and remove the gallbladder. This isn’t a surgery that most doctors will rush into. While it’s a common surgery, it’s still major surgery with some serious risks and complications. However, in most cases, you’ll go home the same day as you’ve had the surgery. Most people do not notice that they do not have a gallbladder because the body compensates and produces bile for the digestive system.

Although a major surgery, gallbladder removal will allow people to no longer have to live in pain.
